WiFi
allows your business to deploy a network more quickly, at lower cost,
and with greater flexibility than a wired system.
A
wireless local area network uses radio frequency technology to transmit
and receive data - typically using license exempt frequencies (2.4 GHz
or 5.1 - 5.8 GHz). Wireless links allow high speed connectivity between
a customer LAN and a NewNet point of presence - without the need for
fibre or other fixed link connections.
The wireless system connects to your LAN via a simple RJ45 network
connection and provides a radio link to the NewNet wireless enabled
point of presence operating at 11 to 54 Mb/s. The wireless system acts
as a network bridge effectively connecting your network direct to the
NewNet fast access network.
Wireless systems offer substantial benefits when compared with other
'traditional' leased line technologies.
Substantial cost benefits over equivalent leased lines - no annual line
rental
Scalable solutions - wireless links can provide from 11 to 54 Mb/s link
speeds
Flexible bandwidth - bandwidth scalable from low levels to maximum link
speeds, switchable at short notice
Simple solutions
Radio frequency systems link your LAN to the NewNet fast access network
Wireless is an ideal solution for the client who wants flexibility with
low recurring costs over direct line of sight links. With bandwidth at
a level you decide, you have the flexibility to increase your capacity
at short notice and without waiting for additional and expensive links.
